We are a group of Baby Boomer rock and rollers who grew up listening to and playing music during the British Invasion, and good old rock and roll of the 60's and 70's. What began as a "jam-session".......turned into an"ob-session", with gigs opening up all over the country and Liverpool, England. Promoters have asked us to tour Germany and Italy also.....we just need the time off from our day jobs! The Rocking Chairs' musical backgrounds go all the way back as far as 1966 when we formed our first bands back in California.

To poke a little fun at our advancing years, we decided to call ourselves The Rocking Chairs. Our musical influences include the classic rock of the 60s and 70s.

Brief music history of TRC:
Formed in 2004 in New Hampshire.

Everyone in the band came from California at one time or another and were in popular rock and roll bands in California from 1966 through the 90s.

In 2005, Liverpool's biggest rock band, The Amazing Kappa Band, heard TRC's demo cd and asked them to fly over and open for them on a series of gigs, thus forming their first tour. Management at The World's Most Famous Club, The Cavern Club, in Liverpool, England (where The Beatles were discovered and played almost 300 times, as well as everyone from Hendrix, to The Who, The Stones, Elton John, etc, etc) heard their music and asked TRC to play the famous stage. That show was filmed for posterity. On that same tour, TRC played The Cavern Pub and Lennon's Bar to boisterous crowds.

In 2006, TRC released their first single, Magic Jack, an original tune, which played on New England radio many times and became a regional favorite.

In 2007, TRC released their second album, Shades of Gray, including many original tunes.

Also in 2007, TRC again went across the pond to Liverpool, England for their second tour, again opening for The Amazing Kappa Band, in addition to multiple shows on their own at The Cavern Club. Their friend, Sam Leach, The Beatles' original promoter, promoted one of these Cavern Club gigs for them. This show was also filmed for posterity.

In 2006 and beyond, Darkhorse Radio (England) DJ, Alan Carr spotlighted TRC music many times on his show. This kicked off other radio stations in Europe highlighting TRC tunes. In 2008, Darkhorse Radio, now out of New York City also, highlighted TRC tunes.

2006 through 2008, TRC became the first band to sellout 4 times in a row at Middle Earth Music Hall in Vermont.

Since 2007, TRC has held their Annual Benefit Firefighters Concert/Street Dance in the village of Bath, NH. Every year it has grown in attendance, with a record year in 2011 of 800 fans, packing the village square to capacity.

In 2010, TRC released their second single, Is That All You Got, an original tune, which also got airtime on New England radio station WYKR.

Since 2010, another original song, Please Remember Me, off their 3rd album, TRC Live, has received multiple air plays on New England radio station WYKR.

In 2011, TRC released their third album, TRC Live, a double album with 17 songs recorded at their 2010 Annual Benefit Concert, also including 3 bonus original tracks.

In 2013, The release of their 4th album was highlighted by their New Album Release Party held at Victory Sports Bar. A packed house helped launch the new album with it's first airing for those in attendance and live on the internet. The video for the first single, Feels Like The Right Time, is the most viewed video in the shortest amount of time for the band. The new Album consists of 6 originals tunes and 4 cover tunes, which are done in the usual "The Rocking Chairs Sound". The album also had one of the tracks receiving air play on BBC Radio in Liverpool, England over Memorial Weekend. Thanks go out to The Rocking Chairs' friend and promoter, Sam Leach (The Beatles' original promoter) and Spencer Leigh of BBC Radio.
