Australian born Rob Tognoni is one of the most exhilarating electric guitar players around today. His repertoire is a blend of Classic Rock and Blues which he plays with invigorating zeal and incomparable attack. With influences ranging from the legendary Blues masters like BB King to hard rockers AC/DC, by way of Jimi Hendrix, Tognoni's fancy fretwork of catchy riffs, crushing chords, and explosive solos posses something that only few guitarists have; character and a very own, instantly recognizable unique sound and style. Born in Tasmania, Rob Tognoni (a.k.a. The Tasmanian Devil) first made his name with the multi award-winning Australian band The Outlaws before being discovered by fellow Australian slide guitar master Dave Hole, who brought him to Europe and to the attention of Provogue Records, where Rob released 4 albums between 1996 and 2002. That year the Provogue label changed ownership and the new proprietor's taste was more slanted towards Texas Blues as opposed to Rob's heavier on the Rock style, motivating the Australian to leave the label. Reclaiming his musical freedom he recorded his next album, ""Retro Shakin'"" later that year and manufactured a limited edition of copies myself that he sold exclusively on tour. Subsequently he signed with Blues Boulevard Records, and has released 7 albums with that company so far. Remembering how much fun he had recording ""Retro Shakin'"", Rob suggested to label owner Alfie Falckenbach that the album be awarded a proper official release, so here it is, now more aptly titled ""The Lost Album"", after 12 years, finally released, no longer lost. Today Rob Tognoni ranks among the elite practitioners of the heavy Blues-Rock genre. His brand of uncompromising high-octane Power-Blues-Rock combined with superb songwriting and evocative lyrics are now favorably compared with the greats in his field and have garnered him a loyal following amongst worldwide aficionados of electric Blues-Rock and beyond.
